Yuki is from Tokyo. She studied fashion and textile design at the Tokyo University of the Arts — one of the most demanding creative institutions in Japan — and came to Amsterdam for a residency that turned into something longer. Tokyo people in Amsterdam tend to become more themselves, somehow; the city gives them permission. She has the Japanese quality of attending to things properly. This is not the same as being reserved — Yuki is warm, curious, and genuinely engaged in conversation. What it means is that she notices. She is precise without being cold. The attention she pays is not performance; it is simply how she is. She speaks Japanese, English, Dutch, and French. She is available for events, cultural occasions, private dinners, and the kind of evening where the difference between adequate and exceptional is in the details.
