About Léa

Léa grew up in Lyon, which means she learned early that food is not background — it is the point. That Lyon directness followed her to Brussels, where she now works on cultural policy at the European Commission. She has opinions, and she'll share them: about the wine list, about the current cultural funding landscape, about where you should eat if you have one evening in this city and want to get it right. Dinner with Léa is genuinely pleasurable in a way that has nothing to do with performance. She knows Brussels' best kitchens — not as a tourist but as someone who eats seriously — and she brings to every table a quality of attention that makes you feel the evening matters. Her French, English, Dutch, and Spanish flow easily; she moves between them without effort. There is a warmth underneath the Lyon precision that takes most people by pleasant surprise. She is discreet, punctual, and exactly the person she presents herself as. Men who have spent an evening with Léa tend to come back. Not because she tries to make them — but because good company, once found, is hard to give up.

Lyon woman in Brussels — the best combination

Léa is from Lyon, which means she approaches every dinner with the Lyon seriousness about food. The restaurant she chose in the Sainte-Catherine area was exactly right and the conversation about Belgian versus French culinary culture was warm and informed. An excellent evening.

Brussels food evening — she knows every kitchen

Léa has strong opinions about every restaurant in Brussels and the knowledge to back them up. The dinner she chose was excellent and the conversation about the specific character of Belgian cuisine versus French cuisine was one of the more interesting I have had at a dinner table. Very warm company.

Brussels for the first time — she showed me the right restaurants

Léa was exactly the right companion for a first Brussels visit. She knows the restaurants from the Lyon perspective — seriously, with opinions and knowledge — and she chose a place in the Sainte-Catherine neighbourhood that was excellent. The evening was warm and the company substantive.
