About Aria

Aria came to Ghent from Prague on a KASK scholarship for photography and moving image. She stayed, which tells you she found something here worth staying for. She knows every gallerist in the Patershol quarter, can tell you which shows are worth your time and which are worth missing, and has strong opinions about both. She is 23 and carries it lightly. Young but not naive — that is not a compliment people attach to someone who hasn't earned it. She grew up in Prague, which has a particular relationship with irony, craft, and beauty in things that don't announce themselves. That aesthetic sensibility is worn, not displayed. Dinner with Aria has its own quality: she is genuinely curious about the person across from her, asks questions that open rather than close, and follows the conversation wherever it wants to go. She knows Ghent's better restaurants with the attention of someone who thinks food and interiors matter. Czech, English, Dutch, and German — all spoken naturally, all with that slight attentiveness that is very specifically hers. She is the companion for the person who finds curiosity attractive.
